We have some friends who travel quite a bit to Knoxville, so we get to hear about their favorite places to eat and hang out.

Now, this Friday, Knoxville will host the 2012 Tennessee Brewers Summit:

As local and regional craft beers force big name breweries off the tap lines at restaurants and pubs, the makers of these brews, and their fans, will convene in Knoxville to discuss the future of the industry in the state — while enjoying the tasty rewards of their labor.

The first Tennessee Brewer’s Summit will take place in Knoxville on Friday at the Bearden Banquet Hall at 6:30 p.m.

There will be beer tastings throughout the evening as ticket-buyers will hear insider information from the head brewers of some of the state’s most popular breweries.

The article goes into some of the history and reasoning behind the Summit, such as Tennessee has the most restrictive beer laws of the country!
